It has come to my attention that there are a great deal of questions in this world that are grand and important. I am here to tell you that I am qualified to answer almost none of them. But I know quite a lot about animals, especially the various classes of Arthropoda, a few things about some fandoms, and a plethora of voluminous vocabulary words. I like to think I approach life with a certain amount of practical whimsy, I may or may not be the unholy offspring of a sasquatch and a leprechaun, and no, I will not marry you. Shall we begin?

This adorable little robot is designed to make sure its photosynthesising passenger is well taken care of. It moves towards brighter light if it needs, or hides in the shade to keep cool. When in the light, it rotates to make sure the plant gets plenty of illumination. It even likes to play with humans.

Oh, and apparently, it gets antsy when it’s thirsty.

The robot is actually an art project called “Sharing Human Technology with Plants” by a roboticist named Sun Tianqi. It’s made from a modified version of a Vincross HEXA robot, and in his own words, its purpose is “to explore the relationship between living beings and robots.”

I don’t care if it’s silly. I want one.

According to a study published in the journal ZooKeys, the amphibian has dark brown skin dotted with orange flecks and features a large and unusual claw-like structure protruding from the base of its thumb, known as a prepollex.
At present, it’s not clear what the purpose of this prepollex—which is essentially an undeveloped digit—could be. However, the team of researchers who discovered the frog—led by biologist Santiago Ron from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador—suggest it could be used to defend against predators, or wielded as a weapon to fight other individuals of the same species (for example, when males compete for mates).

My friend’s dog had the same happen. They were supposed to have 4 puppies, they got one single puppy the size of 4 newborns bc he absorbed his siblings before they were fully developed. They named him Pangea.
